The SP-NYC is a democratic socialist organization, and is the local chapter of the Socialist Party-USA. Our meetings are opened to both members and non members, check the events calendar for dates. The first meeting of the month is our business meeting, the second is an activist gathering.

Local meetings are held at the A.J. Muste Institue, 339 Lafayette Street in Manhattan (6 train to Bleecker St.)

100 years, the Socialist Party of NYC has been fighting for a more just society based on the principles of socialism and radical democracy. As the local affiliate of the Socialist Party USA , we are part of a nationwide party working for social and economic justice through electoral campaigns, education and direct action. Living in the belly of this cruel, wasteful system, we believe that New York socialists have a special obligation to struggle for peace and justice in our city and around the world. This month we will find out what is going on in the
anti-war movement after the big National Assembly in
Cleveland. Peter Moody, chairperson of the Young
People's Socialist League will give a report-back,
followed by an open discussion about the continued US
occupation of Iraq. Potluck dinner after the
discussion. Bring a friend and a dish!
