Two massive marches in NYC saw SP-USA contingents taking part. A combined NY/NJ group marched in the UFPJ anti-war march on April 29th, along with allies from a number of groups. We distributed stacks of The Socialist [read the PDF Here [1]], and flyers about upcoming NYC SP events. On May 1st, SP Members took part in a march and Civil Disobedience action against US government torture in Guantanamo, while others marched with the immigrant rights rally to Union Square, the traditional May Day meeting place for more than a century. Photos will be up shortly.
If you've signed up for information at one of these events, we hope you'll come out to our May 5th Fair Food film and discussion at 339 Lafayette, #7, at 6:30 PM.

We later went to local McDonalds to submit letters in support of the Immokalee Worker's "Alliance for Fair Food" campaign. Andrea, Trevor and I later went to our local IWW meeting and got the local to endorse the Alliance for Fair Food campaign.
North Jersey will join the NYC local in holding an Alliance for Fair Food/ CIW support meeting on May 5th at the AJ Muste Institute.
Some of our members were in NYC for the HUGE march at Union Sq. This was a very busy weekend. April 29th took up much of our energy, but May Day was a big success. Hope to get lots of reports from other locals soon.
In Unity,
Greg Pason North Jersey SP [4].
