Nobody takes a bribe. Of course at Christmas if you happen to hold our your hat and somebody happens to put a little something in it, well, that's different.

Wed. July 30: Rally to Stop Healthcare Privatization

As the healthcare crisis deepens, people are searching for alternatives to a corporate-driven system that leaves nearly 50 million Americans uninsured. Not surprisingly, the healthcare industry's solution is even more privatization. GHI & HIP are two of the latest targets of this privatizing campaign. But what if the solution - or a partial solution - to this dilemma already exists?

On Wednesday July 30th at 4:30 pm at 25 Beaver Street, a coalition of healthcare rights groups will celebrate the 43rd Birthday of Medicare. Medicare, along with Social Security, is one of the most successful public programs in the history of the U.S. It is also another target for the ever-greedy healthcare industry to convert into a profit-making enterprise.

On that same day, people throughout the country will say no to privatization and yes to an improved and expanded Medicare system which would cover everyone. Join us in calling on the Superintendent of Insurance to reject GHI & HIPs application to become a private company and help to build public support for the National Health Insurance Act (House Resolution 676).

Come out on July 30 and join in the struggle. Bring family, friends and neighbors.
