"Activist Poets’ Roundtable" with Dennis Brutus

"Activist Poets’ Roundtable"
with Dennis Brutus

Sunday, March 16
7:00 – 9:30 pm

339 Lafayette St., Manhattan—Ring buzzer #11
(Corner of Bleecker St.)

Dennis Brutus was a banned poet and political prisoner on Robben Island with Nelson Mandela and 1000 others before the fall of Apartheid in South Africa. Currently he is Honorary Professor, Centre for Civil Society, University of Kwazulu-Natal, Durban South Africa.

The roundtable is a space for activist poets and friends to gather and share poetry with each other. Everyone is invited. Time will be allocated equally for all participants to read one or more poems. You may read original work, or poems that you admire written by another. There is no limitation on style or content. Observers who simply want to listen are also welcome.

Monetary donations will be urged to help support “Action for Reparations,” a legal action in the
U.S. Court of Appeals for victims of apartheid oppression in South Africa.
