Picnic For Peace - Bronx, St. Aug. 18th
Nearly 70% of Americans oppose the U.S. War in Iraq. Despite this, 3,600 U.S. soldiers have been killed and an estimated 10,000 Iraqis die each month. Become an active part of the pro-peace majority during a day of food, music and discussion in support of a peaceful and just resolution to the war.
August 18th will be a day of food, music and discussion about creating an peaceful and just resolution to the war. But, that is not all...
Please consider bringing along any excess coats or clothing you have. They will be collected by a community organization from the South Bronx for the benefit of needy children in the neighborhood.
So, come on out for a day in park and help create a more just society - in the future by stopping the war and in the present by ensuring that our youngsters have proper coats and clothing.
