The Socialist Party strives to establish a radical democracy that places people's lives under their own control -- a non-racist, classless, feminist, socialist society in which people cooperate at work, at home, and in the community...A society based on radical democracy, with power exercised through people's organizations, requires a socialist transformation from below. People's organizations cannot be created by legislation, nor can they spring into being only on the eve of a revolution...Our tactics in the struggle for radical democratic change reflect our ultimate goal of a society founded on principles of egalitarian, non-exploitative and non-violent relations among all people and between all peoples...Our aim is the creation of a new social order, a society in which the commanding value is the infinite preciousness of every woman, man and child.

Nobel Prize for Al Gore: “Old Europe” fires back at the Bush administration

Mon, 10/15/2007 - 9:54am

By Patrick Martin
13 October 2007

The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to former Vice President Al Gore is a political statement by the European bourgeoisie about the policies of the Bush administration and the politics of the United States. HillaryCare2.0 is the symptom of a major disease

Thu, 10/04/2007 - 11:49am

By Jack E. Lohman

will eliminate it.
Hillary Clinton says she's learned a lot since the 1990s,
and indeed she has. Those who thought the Republicans
had a lock on the insurance industry's money should
have learned as much. Of all political money contributed
so far, Hillary is the top recipient of the insurer's largess,
even when including Republicans.  read more »

Toll Roads in San Antonio: Bad for working people

Tue, 09/25/2007 - 9:49am

From San Antonio Toll Party

O U R C O N C E R N S

Our concerns with toll roads…

1:: TRADITIONAL TOLL ROADS vs. FREEWAY TOLL ROADS
We have no objection to traditional toll roads, where they are BRAND NEW ROADS (totally new right of way, not in an existing highway corridor), where the people get to vote on the project, and where the money and control stay local.

In contrast, freeway tolls:

* Permanently take current and future public expressways away from drivers.
* Double tax drivers since they are funded with gas tax dollars.  read more »
